Innovative Polymer Systems polyurea coatings range in hardness from 60A to 70D. Because of its insensitivity to moisture, polyurea application can be completed even in damp conditions—no waiting for the weather to change to perform the job. IPS polyurea coatings set immediately, reducing downtime and returning the customer to service in just a few hours.
IPS has introduced its new 100% solids pleural component polyurethane elastomer spray system for industrial and recreational coating applications. The product cures to shore D 70 within minutes after application, and can be sprayed in molds to create artificial rocks and waterfalls. Other uses include coating EPS, concrete, and many other substrates. The finished product is extremely tough, without the brittleness that is often typical of 70D polyurethane materials. This new technology exhibits excellent physical properties for tensile and tear strength, elongation, good heat and chemical resistance, and low water absorption.
IPS received a Class I fire rating for our new 100% solids polyurethane hardcoat. IPS 6142-60DSFR has been thoroughly tested in the field and has been proven to be a versatile fire-rated coating for a variety of substrates, such as EPS, rigid polyurethane foam, and wood. The elastomer coating was tested in an independent laboratory under the specifications of ASTM E84-03, and greatly exceeded flame spread and smoke density requirements.
