Decorative Concrete
Innovative Polymer Systems is an innovator in polyurethane research and development for the concrete industry. IPS polyurethane systems are currently being used for the manufacture of decorative concrete stamps, form liners, floor coatings, and molds for decorative concrete forms.
IPS polyurethane for concrete stamping and texture tools excels in the industry. IPS has long been a leader in this market segment, with many years of experience in the field. Stamps and skins made from IPS polyurethane last longer than other polyurethane systems on the market. These tools consistently outperform the competition, exhibiting excellent tear strength and resiliency. A variety of hardnesses with varying flexibility are available, all with minimal to immeasurable shrinkage. Texture rollers, pounders, and other tools can also be made with IPS concrete stamp material.
Elastomeric polyurethane form liners are widely used for making precast concrete forms for retaining walls, sound barriers, bridge accents, and other architectural forms. IPS formulates several highly flexible and elastic polyurethane systems with low exotherm sufficient for large pours. As always, IPS polyurethane products offer high performance at a competitive price.
Bare concrete floors are quickly becoming extinct with the new polyurethane research and development into high tech floor coatings. These products exhibit great water and chemical resistance, and are suitable for high traffic areas and industrial compounds. IPS concrete floor coatings range from moisture cured single component polyurethanes to high performing elastomeric polyurea spray coatings. Most products are formulated for fast cure time, reducing the time needed to apply the coating and return the area to service.
A growing segment of the concrete industry is in making decorative concrete forms and figures for residential and commercial construction. IPS mold making polyurethane for concrete is an excellent substitute for expensive silicone and time-consuming latex and PVC. Molds made from IPS polyurethane offer good heat resistance and great tear strength and elasticity, thereby lasting longer than other polyurethanes on the market. The molds can be made in a day and used immediately. The price tag is about 1/3 the cost of silicone, offering the user a great option for projects requiring a only a few products, such as concrete countertops, wall caps, artificial rocks, stone veneers, and other masonry projects.
