Automotive Aftermarket

Innovative Polymer Systems provides polyurethane systems for use in the manufacture of automotive bumpers, seat cushions, suspension components and bushings, and spray-on truck bedliners.

IPS polyurethane for automotive bumpers excels in the industry. The elastomeric product is sufficiently rigid, while maintaining excellent impact and heat resistance. Black automotive bumpers made from IPS polyurethane do not chalk or fade as noticeably as other polyurethane systems on the market. It sands easily without gumming up and is paintable. Wheel flares and other accents can also be made with IPS automotive bumper material.

Flexible polyurethane foam has long been used in the automotive industry for molding seat cushions, as well as dashboards, head rests, arm rests, and other components. IPS offers a flexible foam system with fire retardant capable of passing the automotive industry standard for flame spread and smoke density. IPS flexible foam is also very safe to use, as the blowing agent is non-explosive.

High performance suspension components and bushings are manufactured from IPS polyurethane, PTMG and polyester hybrid elastomeric systems. These products exhibit tremendous physical properties and high heat resistance, and consistently outperform the competition. They are formulated for high output manufacturing, and large production runs are completed in a fraction of the time that other polyurethane products typically require.

Polyurea and polyurethane spray-on truck bedliners are a large market segment for automotive aftermarket products. IPS has long been a leader in the bedliner industry, with years of success in the field. IPS offers several systems ranging in hardness and anti-slip properties. High and low pressure formulations are available, including 1:1 and 2:1 by volume ratios.
